This 30cm serial interface cable manufactured by Alvin’s Cables is custom engineered for professional cinematographers, 1st ACs, DIT technicians and camera rental facilities pairing Ward’s Sniper MKIII laser rangefinders with ARRI follow focus control systems.One end features a straight Fischer 7 Pin Male connector built to plug directly into the dedicated SERIAL communication port on ARRI UMC-4 universal lens motor controller and ARRI LCUBE LCUB-1 signal converter. The other side uses a rotatable right angle 0B 4 Pin Male plug engineered to mate with the data port located on the main Ward’s Sniper MKIII laser rangefinder sensor body. This cable only transmits data and does not supply power to the rangefinder; it is incompatible with the separate Sniper OLED display accessory.The cable’s sole function is reliable RS422 serial data transfer. It sends real-time subject distance measurements from the Sniper MKIII rangefinder to your ARRI control hardware, displaying live depth values on connected WCU-4 or Hi-5 wireless follow focus handsets.
